In case you didn’t know…
At UFC 229, former UFC Featherweight and Lightweight Champion, Conor McGregor suffered just his second loss in the Octagon when he was defeated by Dagestani fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov.
Having last fought in the Octagon back in 2016, this was McGregor’s return to the UFC, however, things certainly didn’t go according to the Irishman’s plans as he was forced to tap out in the fourth round.
The heart of the matter
Veteran UFC Welterweight fighter Gunnar Nelson claimed that it was obviously very unfortunate for him to not being able to join Conor McGregor’s fight camp for UFC 229 due to the fact that Nelson was nursing his knee after having suffered an injury. (H/T: Bloody Elbow)
Nelson, further added, that in the future he definitely hopes to back Conor McGregor and hopes to be a part of the Irishman’s camp for his next fight in the UFC.
What’s next?
As of right now, Conor McGregor’s future inside the Octagon hasn’t been confirmed just yet and it’ll definitely be interesting to see who turns out to be The Notorious One’s next opponent in the UFC
As far as Gunnar Nelson is concerned, he will be facing Alex Oliveira tomorrow night at UFC 231.
