In case you didn’t know…

In her seventh title defense as UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion, Ronda Rousey suffered her very first career loss inside the Octagon when 36-year-old Holly Holm pulled-off a major upset win over Rousey via Knockout.

After losing her championship belt and being away from the sport for well over a year, Rousey made her Octagon return in 2016 to face-off against current champion Amanda Nunes. However, Rousey lost her return fight as well via TKO, due to a flurry punches, just 48 seconds into the first round.

The heart of the matter

While speaking with Peter Borg, Ronda Rousey opened up about her two UFC losses which occurred between the year 2015-2016. The former UFC Bantamweight Champion revealed how deeply the loss of her reputation as the biggest star in the UFC had hurt in the first place, when she suffered two major back-to-back losses inside the Octagon. What’s next?

Ronda Rousey’s last UFC fight took place almost a year and a half ago at UFC 207 and as of right now, it definitely seems like Rousey is pretty much done with the world of MMA.

Instead, she has now shifted her focus towards the WWE, and recently made her in-ring debut at WrestleMania 34.

Author’s take

Ronda Rousey’s two losses in the UFC definitely did cause a lot of damage to her morale and the former 135-pound Champion lost a whole lot of confidence as well. Seeing her not compete inside the Octagon anymore is definitely disappointing, but following her big WrestleMania debut, Rousey is now bound to be a huge star in the pro wrestling industry as well.
