Both games, like Thursday’s 6 p.m. matchup, will take place at Bank of America Stadium, home of the Carolina Panthers.

This year’s addition of the state border rivalry got a bit more interesting Wednesday, as North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory announced he and South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley agreed on a wager involving barbecue on the outcome of the game. The losing state will send a shipment of their state’s barbecue to the winner.
“There is no question that nothing compares to North Carolina barbecue,” McCrory said in a release, via WNCN . “While I fully expect the Tar Heels to be victorious, if South Carolina wins the game Gov. Haley definitely gets the better end of the deal.”
Haley responded: “We realize we could get into a back and forth of smack talk with Gov. McCrory but we consider him a friend and will let the players speak for themselves by way of the scoreboard.”
McCrory may have a slight edge in this year’s bet, the Tar Heels are 34-18-4 all time against the Gamecocks.
